Quantification of p24 production in rat peritoneal macrophages. (A) Rat peritoneal macrophages or human MDMs were infected with VSV-G pseudotyped NL4-3 virus. The amount of p24 in the medium was then measured by ELISA. (B) The infected cells were harvested 12 days after infection and intracellular p24 levels were evaluated. (C) The ratio of the amount of extracellular to intracellular p24 was calculated. (D) Infectivity of viruses present in the medium 5 days after infection was measured using TZM-bl cells. NLAD8-EGFP was used to infect 5 × 105 macrophages from double Tg rats or human PBL, and the medium was recovered 5 days after infection. Values are the means of triplicate samples.
